Looking for a good, fast, easy to use siphoner for gas.

Need to get gas out of my old car and my dads old truck, our siphon is old and busted, got more on myself then into the gas can. That being said, anyone have one that they are extremely happy with?

I see a few different kinds, some with hand pumps like a bike pump, some with squeeze pumps, some battery powered, the shake ones, which I hate, so which is best?

I know i am going to have to use it again soon to move some gas around for a buddy when he trashes some vehicles and wants to put the gas in his DD.

Dont see anything nice looking in local auto shops so i figured id come see if i can find something online, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Waiting for answers my self seeing as how I have 25 gallons of 6 year old gas I need to drain :o

Also whats the proper disposal for old gas? I know most dump takes oil and anti freeze but don't think they take gas.

The best and fastes way. Is go to the local auto parts store get a electric fuel pump run a power and a ground wire from pump to a battery put rubber hose on both ends stick one in the tank and the other in what ever you want to catch the old fuel.

and make sure your power and ground leads are kinda far away from tank itself. Don't want ya blowing yourself up ;)

I use the "Oklahoma credit card" Always works for me.
Drills. pumps, ect are complicated, are a little bit noisy and hard to carry around with you.
Give me a good hose and enough cans ...I can drain your tank in 5 minutes.

I ues my mighty vac hand vacumn pump and a piece of 1/4 in. vacumn hose. Stick the hose in the tank and get the vacumn started with the pump and let it drain. You could always suck on the hose, that is if you like the taste of gas. :D When I drained the old gas out of my burb I poured it in the street and it evaporated in like 5 min.
Tarey

Do those work well in gas tanks? I tried using one at work to get gas out of a ride on mowers tank, wouldnt work unless it was completely straight up and down, and unless you shook it straight, going to be at all different screwed up angles in a tank.

I have used it in just about everything. From my tractor, the Jimmy, motorcycles, wifes car, generator. Works at any angle. Biggest issue is it runs about a gallon a minute. Do not turn your back.

I thought the proper disposal for old gas was to pour it on the campfire stack just before you light it.:D

Any one know of any local retailers that carry these deals?

I need one for this weekend's houseboat trip. Last year we almost ran out of gas when all the stations closed, and wanted to siphon out of our own houseboat. I'm gonna be prepared this year.....

Western Marine used to carry them. They are on line. You can next day ship.

Ok, i can check the local west marine. Good idea.

Anyone else refer to these things as gasturbators? haha

Picked up 2 at harbor freight for $6 each. Also got a hose adapter for the end in case i need to extend it. Thanks guys!
