Hey All

Background: 83 K5, front bumper that makes people nervous and move out of the way:D, built 502 big block, TH400 stage 2 plus 2500 stall, brand new NP208, built 3/4 6 lug rear end 3.73 with Eaton posi, running 33 BFGs.

Question: How do those of you who have gas mileage like me over come this when on the trail. Obviously gas storage is the answer but I am looking for clever ways to stash gas and keep my CG low. I am just now getting to the off road part of this build, before now it has all been restoring and hotroding. Pics are always helpful thanks.

Eventually I will put on a rear bumper with 2 Jerry can holders so I can go a few more miles. 10 gallons would be another 80 miles on road or a few more off road if its a crazy trail. There are a few guys on here that build them. Look at venders section. I want to keep extra fuel out of the truck so that would be the only way. If you got a big front bumper already maybe you could put a holder up front on yours.

I solved the problem by never driving far from home. Or gas stations.

One day I'm going to fabricate a couple really nice gas storage cans that work right without spilling gas all over the damn place. I have Jerry cans, thay suck.

I am currently running the 31 ... or 33 ?? But I have heard rumors of a Mythical 40 somthing tank out of a burb that fits...??

Also has anyone thought of a slip tank hidden some place on a k5 ?? Yes I know I am crazy but it seems like there should be a way.

Thanks for all the replys and for entertaining my ideas lol

Dunno about all of that, never heard of it. I'd just run the regular 2 5gal metal jerry cans inside infront of the tailgate behind the wheel wells. Safe, out of the way, as low as you can get it w/o having it on a bumper.
