Will the 40 gallon gas tank for the 86 to 91 Suburban fit the 86 to 91 Jimmy 1500? If not is the problem minor and simple enough that something like a dimple with a rubber hammer will make it fit. I don't want to have to beat it up so bad that it causes a leak later. I do have the guard (Plastic?) under the stock tank now.

The measurements from "LMC Truck Catalogue" for the Blazer/Jimmy is 28 3/4" x 28 1/8" x 10 3/4" (25 gal) and 12 3/4" (31 gal) and the measurements for the Suburban are 35" x 28 3/4" x 13 1/2". Because of the similarities in the underside of the Blazer and Suburban, I'm mainly wanting to know if it's been tried and if so what has to be moved, reformed, etc.

Where in the bottom of the stock 31 gal. tank is the fuel pick-up located. I don't want to tear up the sending unit and/or the fuel strainer when I siphon the old stuff out of the tank.

Thanks everybody, Paul :1zhelp: :dunno: :ears: flagwaver

same depth as 31 gal blazer tank .. .... just longer . would put it over the axle pumkin if I recall if you modded crosmember position to begin with .

pickup location on our body styles is centered for truck / blazer / suburban .

Thanks.

30, remember that I was wondering if a different pump and location would work. I think it was in LMC on the gas tank page. They even talk about it running for the 3 seconds before cranking and shutting the pump off in case of an accident. I think that there was more stuff about it. This is just FYI.

Thanks again, later, Paul
