gas tank interchangeable?

73 non TBI with 89 TBI, can i take out the parts from the 89's tank, put them in the 73 tank, re install it in the 89 and make it work? i want the larger tank from the 89 for my 73 project, but also want the 89 functioning so i call sell it later /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

The 89 tank will have internal baffles (non-removable). It would probably be best to swap the tanks out, as the baffles prevent fuel starvation to the fuel pump, at lower gas levels.
