there is a long story behind this but.....it leads to one question.

if someone poured syrup in your gas tank..how long would it take before it caused the gas and engine to malfunction?

i tried searching, but all i got was questions about installing gas tanks and info like that.

well...im dumbass of the day.

i just learned for the first time, that sugar does nothing to your gas in the tank.

as seen on TV..

"Mythbusters" had a show about that very subject..they put sugar,Lye,Bleach, and some other nasty stuff in a gas tank, with a GM V8 motor,to see if sugar in the gas would "ruin" the engine..it didnt,it just plugged the filters up..lye was "plausible",and Bleach rusted the gas tank severly overnight..I forget how they finally killed it,I think they ran it out of water and oil..

I'd guess it wouldn't take but a few minutes if the syrup was heavy and sunk the the bottom of the tank, where the fuel pump "sock" filter is..if you cut the fuel filter open, and "autopsy" it,you'll see if its in there...
