1/2 ton status
I was wondering if anybody can help me out. I smashed my 16 gallon sadle tank yesterday on my 87 shortbox. I need a new tank. This sounds like a good time to convert to a k5 tank. What do I need. I plan on buying a new tank and staps. What else do I need? like will my old sending unit work? This is a TBI system.
My second part of my question is, if I do decide to just put another sadle tank in will a 20 gallon be a direct bolt in or do I need to stick with the 16? If I go with a 20 will it hang down lower?
I'm trying to figure out my best setup. I have a 2" body lift so I can raise my tank 2" and skid plate it or go with a K5 tank and find a factory skid plate. I do wheel kind of hard on trails and some rock. I'd like to hear what other guys have done and how it worked. A tank or fuel cel in the bed is not an option for me.
