I want to get rid of my stock fuel tanks and replace them with something that isn’t so prone to damage and doesn’t leak gas on the ground. I like the looks of the rear mounted unit from Northwest Metal Products (www.nwmp.com) but $650 is a lot of dough. Are there any tanks from Blazers or Suburbans that might fit? Will the narrow frame rails on the 1-tons cause problems for either of these options? /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

The frame rails are no narrower than anything else.

A Blazer or Sub tank can be retrofitted but it's just as prone to damage as a saddle tank.

If you're not doing heavy off roading, I suggest saddle tank repair/replacement.
