Silly question, how well do these work under water? I don't want to run the breathers really high up and I'm being lazy. 
I don't think that they will work underwater. The vent cap is only designed to keep out dirt and debris.
They only slow the water down. For the axles get a bellows
That is what I was thinking, any reason it can’t be used for the trans and tcase?
No should work for both of those, won't work on gas tank

Axle (F&R) and the transfer case vent tube should be mounted high as possible to keep water out. For the fuel tank if you vent it, it too should be as high as possible! Water ingestion can cost you $$$ in the long run. Do not cheap out do it right!
i wasnt goin cheap here...i just didnt know what it was or where to get. I was told watch how long I make the vent line cuz someone I know said low fuel level and truck acts up weird... fuel delivery issue and only started after he extended tank breather line.
