G goldwing2000 Guest Nov 1, 2006 #2 Probably excessive resistance in the circuit. Mke sure your sending unit is grounded properly. Check for rust/corrosion at both ends of the ground wire and along it's entire length. If it is ok, Check for rust/corrosion at both ends of the gauge wire and along it's entire length. If all the wires and connections check out ok, then it's either a bad sending unit or a bad gauge.
