My JIMMY Bit the Bullet. sort of. I went to my parents house new years eve, just to say hi and wait to go to my brothers house. Got in the JIMMY and started it. pulled into the next yard to turn around and dead, Plenty of crank No Fire. Narrowed it down to fuel issue. Pulled filter pump appears to be running but No fuel coming out what gives. Even a blockage I thought I would have gotten some fuel but nothing. My dad is sure it is frozen some where. But I don't know. I do know it is 400.00 bucks for a new pump assymbly. Any thoughts?

WTF!! :eek1: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217940 < look a secret message! I replaced mine with a new one and the pump was only $99.00. I would dump some dry gas in and see. Only thing I can think is the pick up tube fell off or some thing. :dunno:

Be glad you weren't in Gunnison it was like -17 according to the web (watching weather for area. Planing a trip)

Yeah, split hose is a possibility.

Drop the tank and see what's going on. Nothing complex about it, certainly not $400 worth. Hopefully you've got a garage to work in? :)

yeah, it should not cost $400, even new. plus, you said the pump is running, so that doesn't sound like the problem.

possibly crud clogging the in-tank sock filter. or maybe something shifted and the line is kinked.

plus it's overrun with aliens, a predator, and...well, i won't ruin the end of the movie, but that place got FUBARed. if the aliens made it to crested butte (pretty close), my aunt and uncle are in trouble.

nope its at a shop i dropped it off for him were in the works on get some parts the shop said somthing about a baffle broke loose in the tank and tore it up

The Baffles broke and destroyed the sending unit as well as some other things in the tank. New tank 235.00 sending unit 470.00 pump 89.00 . That is how I will be starting the new yeaR ha ha. I will be talking to the man today though because I did find some sending units at Checker Auto for 190. something and tanks around 174. so... yeah

I think I paid $135 for my TBI tank, all steel construction. Gastanks.com or someone has sending units too IIRC, around $100.

you should do it youself hell of alot cheaper my dad just changed the tank, pump and sending unit in his 1500 and he is NOT a mechanic or mechanically inclined in the slightest bit. Im still not sure how in heck he pulled it off I figured I would be going over to install the whole tank. I just went over to get it started (he couldnt) he didnt hook up the ground.

I got a tank with working pump and sending unit + all the fuel lines from a '90 Blazer for $100 in a Flint junkyard (Flint rules for junkyards). Yes, these things are luck of the draw, but I'm thinking that new aftermarket parts would be less than $300 for tank/unit/pump. I can't imagine paying $800 for all the stuff you are listing.

Be sure to take a look at all of the "damaged" parts before agreeing to pay them for new ones. Having the baffles break wouldn't necessarily scrap the pump.
