gah my rear seal on my motor leaks, i dont really care bc it barely leaks, but my tailshaft on my np208 tcase leaks and im not sure which gasket i need but it pisses it so i really do need to change it

is this the right one?

between my trans and trans mount it leaks but not much so i'm not going to take that all apart..

and one more thing, on my front driveshaft where it bolts onto the tcase it leaks, how does that happen? there is nothing above it and i'm next to positive there is no fluid running through it...

and one more leak, the seal where the driveshaft connects to my rear (14 bolt s.f. from a k20) it leaks a little, is that a pain to change? i mean i have to take my driveshaft off anyways so if i do it i want to do it now, would that be worth it?

and for my starter you may have read about i'm just going to order a rebuild kit for like 16 bucks which has the shims and everything else, that is simple im pretty sure so thats about it, can anyone tell me if im in the ball park?

oh and transmission thermometers i read they are really worth it, so how hard is it to install and how is it done exactly?

The rear tail shaft seal will look like any other seal, exept it will have a lip on the outside of it...

There is a seal under the front yoke on your case, you must pull hte yoke off to get to it.

I believe that the seal on the axle your talking about is the pinion seal, or if the 14sf has a removable pinion support it is the gasket in that area. The later isnt too hard to change, just unbolt clean apply RTV re-install shims if any and let dry over night, if its the pinion seal you have to get a new Pinion nut and re-set the pinion pre-load.

Youre going to rebuild your starter? or just shim it?

If you have an a/t the gauge is a nice necessety, i have one in my shop to go into my DD...i havent installed it yet so im not sure how hard it is, Ive heard of splicing the sensor into the "out" line for the fluid with a "T.

i understand the concept, so im guna have a clean bucket for the fluid and then filter it as i go refill it (200 miles on it and im broke as a joke) does it pop off and should i rtv it?

as for the pinion yes, that is what im talking about..i never did gears and if i have to set backlash and stuff that can give me a problem and something that doesn't drop in i think i'll pass.

and for the front yoke your saying where the front d.s. meets there is a seal?

as for the starter, yes, new solenoids, shims and everything..i have it in front of me and that it comes with starter drive, bushings, brushes, washers and snap ring.

after this, BALL JOINTS!
that is going to have to wait until January since Christmas and i am 16 which means $$

while im asking, my belts squeak on start up, newer belts, they are tensioned right yet they still squeak..once i get moving it stops..

and my p.s. box leaks, just fill it and ignore it?

Check the fittings, if theyre not loose then its just a R&R kinda thing.

It just pops off and you tap it in with a hammer, you have a slipyoke correct? THen polish the slip yoke on the D-shaft wiht emerycloth or the like, that helps from ripping the seal.

Yes behind that front yoke there is a seal.

Belts might be old?s
