Gatsby Shackle Flip?

yep covered a bunch of times.

basic feeling is week not a lot of bracing .

good flip kits give you more webbing / and catch under the frame rail also like stock does with the brace that goes threw the shackle eye bolt at the hanger. in the 1 pic of the whole old hanger setup he posted the brace is on the back side still with 2 rivit holes . he skipps this 100% .

skip that thing if you can call it that and get a ord or diy or tna ? our new vendor here that doing diffrent flips .

and i think someone has or just had a flip kit for sale here in the sale section below.

From a manufacturing standpoint, it is simple. It looks weaker than the factory bracket it replaces in may ways. As a mechanical engineer, I would not run the simple version unmodified though.

Add in the gusseted version and a brace under the frame and it will be as strong as the factory bracket.
Blue: under frame plate with tab that runs between parallel risers.
Green: two vertical gusset plates.

I used them. They worked fine and have proved to be plenty strong without any gussets. Not nearly as beefy as the ORD brackets, but less than 1/2 the price. I'd buy them again.

i have a set on my 87 K5
4"lift 35"tires tows and wheels fine
however i did add a plate to the front of it to kind of box it in
