In the middle of installing a Greg Ducato 4L80E/241C with VSS into my 88 Blazer. Using the COMPUSHIFT system to control the transmission.

Know to come up with a plan for a gauge cluster to work with the trans controller, like the speedometer.

I’m reading up on the Dakota Digital Gauge Cluster from LMC.

Opinions or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Ed

Well that dash has a VSS sensor that will go in the t case. And it will have a VSS output signal that you can send to your trans controller. Look in the instruction manual and it will tell you the output options. Or pulse per mile. Make sure it outputs whatever your trans controller needs to see

thank you for responding,
what do you mean "that dash"?

Small window of years had the vss driver on the back of the speedometer
What does it look like?

And how would the vss driver work with a mechanical speedometer?

I moved the speedometer out a little to release the speedometer cable for removal.

Thank you.

The mechanical drive comes on as usual, and there’s a telemetry box on the back of the gage that generates the VSS signal. Might have one at the house, when I make it back there

I was referring to the VHX by Dakota digital that you were talking about

The VHX uses VSS and comes with a mechanical vss signal generator. You may want to call them and see if they work with a VSS transfer case.
