I pulled my dash out and and built a new one. I want to run all new gauges, but I don't know where the go except for fuel. Does anyone know of a diagram of where each gauge connects?

Ok more specific question, there is a gauge that connects right under the headers on the driver side with a 3/8 head or so, now is that pressure or temp?

front of block between #1 & #3 cylinder is the temp sender

Great thank you. Not the colors, I need to know where they tie in to the motor. For example where do I tie in for oil pressure and rpm and volts?

This may or may not help you but thought I'd throw it up here anyway

After you take out the instrument panel you will see the rectangular harness has numbers located at each wire.

This is from an 86 K5.

1. Brights
2. Gauge lights
3. Volts
4. Volts
5. Oil Pressure
6. Keyed ignition
7. Clock
8. Clock
9. Water Temp
10. Ground
11. Left turn signal
12. Right turn signal
13. Seat Belt
14. 4wd
15. Choke
16. Acc power
17. Brake
18. Fuel gauge

The entire wireing harness is gone so I have to run each gauge myself. Where do I plug in the oil pressure gauge?

Common small block location was next to the distributor on the drivers side...you'll see it. Must be something there now, or it would leak. :)

Cool thanks for the info, all I need is speedo and fuel and I know where those go. I also have a gauge for volts, anyone know where that connects?

Connect voltmeter any where you want that is switched ignition.

I'd want to see battery or alternator voltage. Theoretically they should read the same, but with imperfect wiring, which is normal, they often won't.

From the factory, it was simply a reading based on the voltage the gauge cluster was seeing.

Ok cool thanks guys that's what I needed to know, keep up on my build thread to see my gauge install. I should be getting them in the mail next week
