Just joined and already looking for your vast knowledge! Putting autometers in dash and am ashamed to say that I cant find the oil pressure sender in my 91 k5 5.7 .Be terribly grateful if someone could open my eyes? Thanks for your website cant wait to spend countless hours learning!

not really sure on the 91's but mine has a gauge that runs from the back of the motor where the distributor is located. like right underneath the body of the distributor itself. yours probably has a wire but i went with the tube that sends oil up and reads it that away

EDIT: and WELCOME :waytogo:

Thanks for your response. Just got back from the local offroad shop (Cascade-in puyallup, wa) who ordered my gauges- autometer z-series- have to pull all out, return and pick up all elecrtrical of another series. Heres the dig- I went in Saturday to buy take home and install all same day. Guy (JOE) says no problem have here by 1:00 knows exactly what I need. COOL keepin my bus local all for that. JOE did not know exactly what I needed nor did I but thats what I went to the pros for. Today I expressed a slight disappointment to Joe and the circus this has turned into and that if he wasnt capable of getting me what I needed that I could take my business and $600 somewhere that could help me with no hard feelings. Joe did not like that and promptly let me the customer with cash know that I was not being reasonable. Are you kidding me. Anyways, pick your battles right. Im sorry Joe Ill try to be a better customer the next time:D if youll just give me another chance.
used the plasma cutter I bought with info from this awesome website:bow: (Parker 50 amp) to make the instument bezel. Thanks again for all your help I will definately be a regular utilizer colorado k5.

In case you havent found it yet, the sending unit should be right above the oil filter on the drivers side of the block. Electrical type, one wire IIRC.:D

How about a picture?

Did the location for the oil pressure sender change after 1989? My pressure sender was factory next to the distributor along with the fuel pump pressure switch.

Actually its the same for both my 88 and 90. In fact, the only difference between the two blocks that I have found is that the 88/89 has v-belts and the 90/91 has a serpentine.

That's weird once again since my 89 has serp belt and that is when GM supposedly started using the serp set-up.

I wonder if Cali emmisions makes a difference. I've pulled parts from an 89 that had v-belts, but had all the emmisions crap on it, just like my 88 prior to the engine swap.:dunno:

Just curious now but does your 90 have an AIR pump? My 89 blazer does not have AIR.
