So I have this idea of swapping in a tach in my 6.2 dually after finding out a 4l80e engine speed sensor from a 6.5 will drive a tach. I have a 79 tach cluster but want the faces to match. Is horrible white the only way to get 80s faces for these?

The factory tach was available from 1980-1982 in light duty trucks and longer in medium duty trucks with the newer font.

I found one, it is just they want more than I think they are worth esp knowing it most likely needs the tach fixed. Plus I could make all the gauges look nice and add "diesel fuel only" to the fuel gauge. I wonder if a wrap company could do it.

Check eBay. There are a bunch of gauge overlays out there. I'm sure you could order custom ones if you so choose
