I'd like to rip out the useless clock and put in a fuel gauge, then move the speedometer to where the fuel gauge currently resides and put a new tachometer right in the center. Has anyone done something similar? Do you have any tips or tricks? I'm really concerned with the Tach, since the truck didn't have one stock. What are they wire up to?

I'm searching online for some Autometer gauges. Will they fit in the stock locations without a problem?

Edit: Another situation where I should have just done a search first.... I'm going through them now...

Depends on what you call a problem. They will fit, but not without a lot of modifications behind the dash. When i did it I used the stock cluster and cut and ground on it and mounted my gauges in there(make sure you use an old cluster with the metal trim ring). Then I had to cut a little from the back of the factory bezel to get to all fit together. When you get it all done it works and looks awesome, but it takes many hours of work to do it right. There is a writeup of something mounting them to the back of the bezel, it looks awesome, but the mounting method is not very good. Which is why I did it different, but it looks the same. (except I used ultralites behind black bezel)

Or you can buy one of these, but they are expensive and they don't even point the gauges up like they should, I don't like em.
