Im planning on getting a pair of gauges for my ford as it only has the basic instrument cluster, I know one will be a trans temp but Im unsure about the other. These will be in one of those a pillar deals from auto meter.

My dillema is that while I love how the Ultra Lite auto meters look, the interior of the truck is grey and I think that the sport comp gauges would look better and would match the truck better, however I used to have some cheapy gauges with a black face in my Nova and sometimes they were hard to read.

Anybody have a preferance between the Ultra Lites or Sport Comps by autometer?

well, just to be the yackass that goes against todays trends and offends everyone in the forum.... :wink1: I DESPISE whiteface gauges.... :p:

sports are ok, but i MUCH prefer Pro Comps...

As long as the needle and numbers contrast with the background, it shouldn't matter what color the gauge is. I used to be all over white face gauges, in fact, in high school I installed white face VDO gauges in my Jimmy (pic in sig) With that, I needed something to contrast with the black dash panel. Now I'd prolly paint the dash and put black gauges in.

As for my opinion between the Sport comps and Ultra lites, I'd say Sport comps, I can't stand the silver/gray background of the lites. And the comps look much more "professional" imo for a normal street driven truck. Keep the lites on the track.
