Hey guys, took the Dirty Girl out to the Badlands last weekend for the first time in a looooong time. Everything ran pretty good, I was the only guy able to drive his rig onto the trailer under its own power by the end of the weekend, lol! But one issue I was having was a gear chatter sound coming from the doubler. It seemed to only happen while in 4wd and when I would be at a higher speed then let off the gas.

Im thinking that detent spring in the 203 range box needs to be tightened up possibly? I never heard it while crawling through the trails. Only while cruising down the gravel roads going from area of the park to another.

And here's a pic of the rig in action :D Felt sooo good to finally get behind the wheel of it.

and are you running 203 gear box in low and tcase in high ?

i was told and have read use 203 last and all 4wd and first low in 205 first.
Thanks for the link, guess I should do that and see if it fixes the problem. Yes I had the 203 in low while the 205 was in hi sometimes. I have read that too but that was way back in the early doubler days. I thought since all doubler intermediate shafts are now single 1-piece billet design instead of the old two shafts welded together, that this was ok to do?

ya the super soft floppy 203 feel stock is now 98% the same as the 205 feel now with the nut spacer fix. :waytogo:
