Does anyone know of a geardrive tach that I can use? One of the HMMWV motors I picked up has a gear drive sticking out where the vacuum pump would be. It has a screw on connector on top that looks like a speedo cable. I found reference to a HMMWV one, but from what I found out about it, it is very rare, and very expensive to find one.

I would think that a tach out of any Military vehicle or an older semi or piece of heavy equipment would have a tach that would work

yeh one would think that, but searching for cable drive tach is....hard....most of the crap I find is for 50's corvettes and then I about fall out from the prices.

yeah your best bet is to try steel soldiers or some place like Boyce, or memphis equipment

Deuces have a 4000 RPM cable Tach IIRC might wanna start with those

nah, aint found one, not as common as one might expect. the deuce ones will work but they are a little pricey (unless I can sell some of my parts, hint hint) unless they look like theyve been underwater for 15yrs.

Let me call my uncle he has like 20 deuces in various states of repair. If nothing else you should sell it to me !!

attention's piqued if he's got a few more laying around... my vaccuum dealy isn't doing anything but lookin purty.

yo, i could use one too, cable and gauge... just blew my 6.2 and swapped in a HMMWV pullout, left the tach provisions in place of the vacuum pump... this would be an awesome upgrade

whoa I had forgot about this, aint messed with the cucv in a month or two, been rebuilding the trans, tcase, and trying to make/save $$
