Gear lube for Detriots

Hey. im puttin my new axles in on sat. I need to know if the detriot locker for the rear requires me to run any certain type of gear lube? What do u guys run?

i believe they recomend the lowest viscocity lube that the manufacturer allows for the axle


i have 80w-90 in mine

I am using regular 80w-90 in my 14BFF with Detroit.

I e-mailed TracTech about synthetic vs. dino oil. Here is the exact reply. Dated 7/11/2005

Tractech's official word is use what ever you like as long as it is high quality. My own opinion is that the petroleum oils do a better job in rear axles.
