I'm having a brain fart here and can't find the answer that I'm searching for. I picked up a 14ff with 4.10's, rear disc's and a detroit :D and a D44, crossover ready, 4.10's and a truetrac locker :D

My question is, refilling the diff's do I need to put in an additive for the lockers or just straight gear oil?

detroit not but truetrac im not sure. does the truetrac use clutches? if so then yes. Also most synthetic gear lubes have a friction modifier in it.

straight oil for the trutrac - it doesn't have clutches, has helical gears to do the locking. I don't remember how Dana works, but if it's positraction with clutches it needs a friction modifier additive. I use valvoline 85-140 w/25% Lucas Oil Stabilizer on my trutrac's.
