yeah you moved it toward the carrier with more shims. away from carrier with less. It can be confusing while laying under truck. How much shim did you have in the first pics from today ?

must be the picture angles look different in the two posts. remove .010' shims and see what you get.

I was half way through setting this up when I read your reply. This is 0.060 pinion shim with 0.005” back lash. I will drop down to 0.050” pinion to show you that! Give me 5minutes

it's pretty close by the last picks, I would like to see it move to the middle just a bit more. If those are .060" then .050" should move it towards the middle.

This is still with the .048”pinion shim but I moved back lash to .009” by moving ashim from right side to the left side of the carrier. Should I keep going?

that coast looks great, the drive side didn't pattern well enough to say. .009" back lash is high side of range. It is exceptable, personally I would like it better at .006-.007" range.

This is 0.007” backlash with the 0.048” pinion shim pack. What do u think?

I think I might try to go 0.055” on the pinion shims and see what it does. Edit: I mean go the other way with like 0.038” pinion shim

if you do want to change the pinion shim again I'd go .043 ish. Is looking good now.

This is 0.038” pinion and backlash is 0.013 I haven’t touched back lash yet

This is 0.044” pinion shim pack( closest I could get to 0.0.43”) and back lash is at 0.010” which I am going to tighten up.

I think if tighten up the back lash you'll be there. Strange how you get a good pattern print on the coast but drive side never seems to be as good.
