Gear Question

Ok, will a set of gears for a rear 10 bolt from an 89 work in a front from an 85? I am pretty sure the answer is yes, but want to double check. I know they had changed to the 30 spline carrier in 89, and want to make sure they didn't change the gears in any way. Thanks

only change i know of is the 28-30 spline in 89. i have an old 10 bolt 28 spline in the rear and a 89 30 spline in the front, and when i ordered my new gears about a year ago they were the same according to randy's ring and pinion. and i just ordered new yukon axles for the rear and stayed with the 28 cause my lockrite is a 28 spline.
anybody else?

It needs a bigger motor.
