Gear ratio for 6.2

I've got locked 3/4 ton differentials with 4.10 gears (powertrax up front, detroit out back) in the works, should be a friggin' rocket compared to how it is right now, lol

I once drove a TBI 350 K5 with 2.73 gears...but oy...the 6.2L equivalent shocks me.

The first two gears arn't half bad, which gets me to city driving speeds pretty reasonably quick, but my 0 - 60 speed is in the 45 - 50 second range.

The engine doesn't have enough torque to maintain speed in 5th gear (around 1300 rpm at 65 mph), so I just run it in 4th all the time which puts me at around 1800, which isn't bad. The engine still doesn't put out enough torque to be able to do 65 without putting lots of throttle into it, so the mileage suffers a bit. Cylinder temps get a bit high on longer uphill grades too, makes a bit of black smoke due to a poor spray pattern on one of the injectors.

I am hoping that doubling the differential ratios makes for a far more powerful truck! I've never had a 6.2L diesel that you could stall out starting off in 1st gear before, lol
