what is the stock gear ratio in a 12 bolt and a d44, both half tons?? there off of a 1979 lwb truck

Could be anything between 2.73 to 4.10s.....
A fairly easy way to find out. When you have the front off the ground, lock the hubs (if PT kit put in), place a crayon mark on the driveshaft, turn the wheel one revolution, count how many times the drive shaft turns. It will get you close to what you have without having to do any disassembly.
