Installing a new set of Yukon 4.56 gears and an eaton E-locker into a front Dana 60.
Using old carrier bearings, outer pinion bearing, and inner pinion race for set up.
Specs:
Inner pinion shim: .053
outer pinion shim: .042
Pinion preload: 10 in/lbs
NRGS shim: .064
RGS shim: .071
Backlash: .005

What do you think?

Also, carrier preload is a bit low (it doesnt take much to get it back in the housing, and I used all the shims that came with the kit, do i need to buy more, or should I be good when I use the new bearings...)

All pics are from same try, just different lighting and different places on the ring gear.
-drag on gears was about 45 in/lbs during rotation for pattern check (dial torq wrench, measuring rotating resistance)
Thanks!!!

That is one of the resources I have been using(among others), just need help diagnosing the pattern. I think it might be towards the root a tad bit, and even though it is towards the heel a bit, there isn't much adjustment left in the backlash.
Should I take out 3 thou from the pinion, adjust the BL, and go from there?..

Leave the backlash alone, you are not coming off the tooth anywhere.

You are to deep.

Sharp edges are bad. See on the root of the tooth how it is a very sharp straight line. That's bad. Good contact patterns don't have a sharp cutoff top or bottom on them.

Nice and roundish is what you need.
