I'm looking for some economy (not junk) tools that I can get for setting up the racecar gears. We run 10Bs, but will be going to a 9" when we move up a class in a year or so.

Is there a setup tool set that will do both?

Good source for this?

(I'm not looking for snap-on, matco, etc due to limited amount of usage.)

Also, I'm looking for some good DVDs, tech info that will help this process go smoothly so I can learn it.

Any & all help will be greatly appreciated.

Dial indicator with mag base, ususally the more these cost the better. I would say one in the 45-75 dollar range. Dial calipers same is true with these. Some sort of a press (you need this if you are planning on changing carrier bearings) a bearing splitter, an inch pound torque wrench (not the clicker a one with a dial scale on it) a beam bender will work for getting in the ball park but its hard to get it dead on with one of these. Thats about it and those will work on any gear set. 9"s are cake to setup.

Okay, so let me get this straight. I should get the following:
1 - Dial Indicator w/ Mag Base: Other than cost/qaulity, any other differences?
2 - Dial Calipers: Other than cost/qaulity, any other differences?
3 - Press (for changing carrier bearings)
4 - Bearing Splitter: Are these one size tye things, or for various sizes?
5 - Inch Pound Torque Wrench: So you're saying use the twist dial type?

Does this about sound right?

on 1 and 2 no not really

4 there are several different sizes you need the second size up from the smallest I will see if I can find a link for ya.

on 5 you can use a beam bender if you need to the dial type works better.
