If this is the one your talking about it comes in the rebuild kit. I looked at the one on RockAuto and the entire kit is $20.00. Other wise it's time for a trip to the junkyard.

yup, I just wanted the ring, I don't need the entire kit. Orielies auto has it for 25, so I'll probably do that.

junk yard pull one .

local parts store ask if thay got a core box and can you steal the rring for a buck or 2 as it gets new on reman job .

i had one floating around the garage but i think i just tossed it yesterday. I will go roam around and see.

Are the 4wd and 2wd the same size? If so, I have another one I could try and get off without mangling it. But if its like the other one it will be rusted in there.

I have one laying loose on the right hand side back corner of my tool box/ work bench. 2" front the right hand side and hanging just slightly off the back edge.

Want it?

I have one laying on my work bench right now. Yes 2wd and 4wd are the same. You do know about the hole in the steering box casting for removing this snap ring don't you? If you look directly at the 12:00 o-clock position as when the box is mounted in the vehicle you'll see the hole, just put a pick or small screw driver in the hole to puch down on the snap ring so you can work it around and out. :thumb:

Yes scott I do know about the hole. Its just the ring was so rusted it did not want to come out. I also hit the cap with a dead blow to knock it in a little. That didn't help either.

Gotcha, you wouldn't believe how many people don't know about that hole. Also not alot of people know the trick about hitting something first such as you did to release any tension. :thumb:
