gears for 33\'s

Are 4.10 gears too low for 33's? I have a 700r4 and want a lower gear but unsure of 4.10 vs 3.73. Right now I believe I have 3.08's and want a bit lower gear for towing and more power.Thanks-Russell

Re: gears for 33\'s

I have 3.73s and tried some 33s and noticed some difference in acceleration it laged a bit, I would at least go with 4.10s. Do you have 33s now or are you going to buy them and also are you gonna stay with 33s or go bigger.

Re: gears for 33\'s

I got a 87 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton w/ the TH400 and 4.10's i also got the 33's. Goin down teh highway at 65 itll turn some RPM's but itll go off the line. Im plannin on 35's, and 4.10 should be fine since a friends got 35's and 4.10's and TH400 and his is just fine.

Re: gears for 33\'s

I'm running 33's now. I don't have any plans to go bigger. This is my daily driver and I will be towing my other blazer with it now and then. That's why I thought the 4.10's would be better. I just wasn't sure about rpm's on the highway with the diesel. But I guess it wouldn't be too bad with o/d. I found that Drivetrain warehouse had front and rear r&p sets with master install kits for $399.95 and am considering ordering gears for it. Thanks, Russell
