gears for d44and 14ff

anyone know what gears came in 76 3/4 burb with SB400. I researched and think they are 4.10 but not sure. Is this a good setup for heavy trailer pulling and mudd running. not much highway use above 55mph. occasionally 70. Wanting to install Detroit in rear and leave front open for now?

The gear ratio depends on how the truck was ordered. There's not just one ratio. You can check it by either pulling the numbers off the top of the right side tube and running them through a dealer, pulling the cover and counting the teeth, spinning one wheel by hand and counting driveshaft revolutions or, if you're lucky, the original RPO sticker may still be in the glove box.

4.10 is a good ratio, as long as you keep your tire size 35" or under.
