What gears are yall running with 35's and 700 tranny's? Fried mine after 3 weeks of driving with my new vortec and 33 swampers (which measure 32) and 308 gears. So i'm tired of breaking things since this is fast becoming my daily driver and i'm dumping the money i was going to use for a tow rig into well the Blazer. So i'm going one tons and going to have my 700 beafed up since it's going to be my to and from for work over drive would be nice. It's the only reason i'm not going to a 400. Gotta drive it every day. But i want to be able to tow with it also. The other part of that tow rig money is going into a boat in the fall. So with 35's and the 700 what kinda gear do yall guys run? Any one tow 5 to 7 thousand pounds with 35's and a 700? 4 10? 4 56?
Anyone interested in spare 10 bolts for spare parts and lockrites for both still in the box. Would have used them and kept the axles with just driving and wheeling. But towing also i think i would be pushing the limit with them even keeping my 33's. So i'm going one tons and lower gears. Just scared of towing a boat with 10 bolts and lockers. Alot more weight and stress. Let me know yall's experiance.

honestly i'd go 5.13 if your gonna go to the hassle of swapping gears in one tons. if you havent bought any yet, military 1tons with 4.56 would work good too. i've got 35's,4.56 and a 700. perfect for what i do, but i like to cruise at 80. with 5.13 it'll be happiest around 70-75 in OD.

I was going to recommend 4.88's, so yeah you might as well go 5.13's with OD. This trans was discussed on here before http://racetransmissions.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_56_111/products_id/30 maybe somebody can give you some more info on it. Other than that put the biggest cooler on it you can find.

Sheesh 5.13's would seem to be pretty much the same as just going with the Th400, sure you'd get the low first gear, but man that's kind high,,,

I have "35's"/ 700r4 with 4.10's and it does ok, searches alittle at highway speeds, but i am kinda thinkin it has alot to do with my high mileage motor not producing the power it needs to keep it running,,,i personally would like to switch to 4.56's.

I have towed with this current setup, it does alright, it likes it better in 3rd though and not running at 75 some MPH.

MY opinion,,,,,either the 4.56 or 4.88, if you are not always towing and is also a DD.

Go 4.88. I just switched from 4.10 running 35's to 4.88 and absolutley love the overdrive gear with this setup. so when you tow, drop into drive and PULL.

i was originally going to go 5.13s and 35's, but now have 5.13s and 42's. couple ppl on here have 5.13s and 35s and love the way it drives.

I'm running 35's and 4.10's. Comes out about the same RPM at 60 as the stock 3.08's with 31's. I don't tow with it. But If I was gonna, I'de go at east 4.56's, if not 4.88's. I wouldn't tow in Overdrive!! These things burn up WAY to quick. If you are gonna tow alot, I would also find the biggest freakin tranny cooler you can!!

He preaches the truth!!

4.56 or 4.88 is what I'd run. I would lean towards 4.88s though.
