90' 350 v8 TBI Blazer
I have my mind set on a 6" superlift kit and 35" BFG muds. What would be a good ring and pinion ratio for this set up and what are the other factors. Also i dont just want my power back but a little extra acceleration for mud bogging. I see many 4.10 gears but i dont know if thats going to have me cruisin at 4000 RPM on the free way this rig will see lots of pavement and mud.

Originally whe I went with my 6 in lift and 35's I went from 3.73's to 4.10's. It was ok, but since then I've gone to 4.56's. My opinion is don't waste your money, go for the 4.56's. With the 700r4 your rpm's shouldn't be anywhere near 4000. I believe its more like 2600-2800.
 
I was think more of cruising in the 1600-2000 range. will 4.10 gears do that?
 
I have a 87 and am going to run a 6" BDS lift most likely and like you I thought quite a bit about gearing. After months of asking and calculating I'd go 4.10's... why... one they are a stock choice so you can find axles w/ them in them so you don't need to shell out big bucks to regear and 3.73's are just to little. 4.10's w/ OD and the torque converter locking in will have you at about 2300 rpm or so @ 70 mph and combined w/ the low first gear in the 700r4 you should have enough power for the trails. TBI's aren't made to run up too high in the rpms and the torque peak is in the 2000 to 2500 range so I deally think 4.10 would be perfect, but I have yet to get swapped out yet.

I have 4.10's and 33's without an overdrive and I can drive on the highway just fine. About 2800 RPM at 65. Not only are you going with a bigger tire but you have a freakin overdrive. Go with 4.56's or you'll kick yourself later. More power, acceleration, crawling cabability, etc.
