Gears?

What gears should I run with a 454 engine without excessive rpm's on the highway since the powerband for these engines is around 2200 - 2600rpm if im correct. I have a TH350 and 37"tires, also a 14 bolt in the back and open a 10 bolt in the front. Im thinking either 4:88 or 4:56? I do however want decent gas milage since there will be alot of highway driving involved. Also are 4:88's to small for a 10 bolt?

I'd go with 4.56's for your application. And yes, 4.56's for a 10 bolt front will be stronger.

Anyone else here have my setup that could offer some advice? Like wishing they had gone with lower gears or higher gears?

I am about ready to go with that exact same setup. I will be going with 4.88's and 38.5's. I'll never be able to run smaller than a 37" tire again if I want to drive it on the street. But it sure will be fun!
