i goin to get a 14ff bolt that has 4.56gears and goi to put my 4inch lift on and get 37s. i was wondering if i should change to like a 4.10. i dont really know what to do. i have a fi350 and a 700r4 trans. and it my dd
 
my 14 is 4.56 with 37s i drive it once in a while but its fine im gonna go with 4.88 or 5.13s eventually
 
ok just thats what i thought. i think im get a good deal on the axle its a military 14ffbolt with a locker with 0miles for 500. let me know what you guys think.
 
You definitely don't want to switch to 4.10's! The 4.56 is going to be a better ratio with the OD trans...and anyway, you can buy 4.10 geared 14-bolts everywhere so it would be stupid to buy a 4.56 gear one and then spend the money to swap gears.

$500 isn't a steal, but not bad at all for a brand new 14FF with a Detroit (should be the case if it is a true military axle). Just keep in mind you will likely have to move the spring perches on that axle to bolt up under your K5.
 
4.56's will be fine. $500 for a new 14 bolt with 4.56's and a Detroit is a good deal. I've sold several used ones for that price in the past. D60's with 4.56's are easy to get too.
 
have some 4.56 gears for d44 for sale if you need to regear it
