I just bought a 86' k5 with a 4" lift all the way around and a 1-1/2" add a leaf on the rear to level it out.
It's got 35's on it with stock 3.07 gears in it and both front and rear are 10 bolt axles. What gears can i put in
them to get more power but not have to worry about braking the axles, I just use it for a daily driver most of
the time but I do like to go mudding when I can get away from work. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Personally I'd start looking for a good set of used 3/4 Ton axles. They'll already have the better gears, better breaks, and atleast the rear axle will be alot stronger !!!!! You may not need 3/4 Ton axles, but in my opinion it's alot cheaper to swap a set of 3/4 Ton axles under your truck then it is to regear both front and rear stock axles.
