So has anyone come to find out that there rocking a gen 1 350 in a gen 2 application? Got my 87 k5 from a buddy and recently found, or should i say noticed that it has a gen 1 engine in there. the truck drives, but it likes to back fire and has a lack of power going up any sort of incline. throws a code 43 randomly and then randomly turns off. anyone have this problem? just trying to find an easy solution before i drop an ls motor in. Currently overseas for a while and i anit got no time for that, right now! ha.
thanks

What? GEN II motors were only in Camaro/Firebirds, Corvette, and Caprices. Then they realised how terrible they were and moved onto the GENIII/IVs we know and love.

If you are referring to the roller blocks that they began stamping 5.0 and 5.7 in 86ish as GEN II thats incorrect. The revised castings of GEN I SBCs are the same ****.
