A buddy raised a good point, I can't tell if I have a 5.3L or a 4.8L. The previous owner told me it was a 5.3L, and an 02. Problem is, some info I am finding says the 862 heads only came on 99-00 5.3L engines. I have 862 heads and if it is an 02, then that scares me into thinking it is a 4.8L. Anyone be any help? LS1Tech is good for some stuff, but those guys seem rather strange about the simple information.
Everything I can find about engine IDing online is all based off of the VIN, which all I know is this came out of a GM truck, and thats it.
