Its a lot of work. I just dropped a 6.0 in my 84 on Sunday. Hopefully I will have it wired and running by this weekend. Its a bit of a challenge fitting it in the frame but its possible and hopefully it will pay off. I am running an LS1 manifold on the passenger side, and the stock manifold on the drivers side. Frame notching was still required but it wasnt much. I sent my harness and PCM to Jims Performance in Maryland. He is the best for the money, very knowledgeable guy. Its not the easiest or cheapest swap but I am sure it will be well worth it when I finish up. Gotta lot of small details to work out this week, before I can fire it up.

What are you using for a fuel pump? What tank? I'm thinking of doing a 5.3 in the near future and looking for ideas to make the swap easy, and cheap power improvements (in addition of reprogramming). I though I read a while back a 6.0 or LS1 cam in a 5.3 is a good upgrade, and the same with using one of those engines intake for more air.

I am running a summit 20 gallon aluminum fuel cell with the built in sump, with an aeromotive in line pump which is suitable for about 65 PSI which is what the votrecs require. In tank pumps are preferred but In line is much easier to plump and mount. As for cams, I think alot of people run LS1 cams which is a good upgrade, as far as the intake, the factory truck one is better for more tourqe as the LS1 is shorter and doesnt make as much low end powerr, I would leave the stock intake since its going in a truck and heigh issues are not a problem.
