General Maintainance \"Q\"

How often should a person grease their truck if they go off-roading through a lot of mud and water (coming through floors and in the doors deep /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif)
Also what type of grease is best for U-Joints , front end etc.
Just want your opinions on this matter
Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

I grease everything after we go mudding. The hubs are usually pretty much devoid of grease. The tie rods and ball joints are ok but they do get a little water and dirt in them.
I use the cheap grease because it gets replaced so often. During the winter i will go with synthetic

if you are really sinking the truck everytime you go, well everytime you go. Don't have to go all out and tear the whole truck apart but for it to last a good quick greasing all around and checking the diffs for fluid intake should do it. I've heard of folks using a marine grade grease, stands up better to water. Think thats mainly in wheel bearings I've heard that used though. I just use whatevers in the grease gun at the time.

Exactly what I thought , I had a lot of water come out of every geasable part under my truck yesterday /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
After mudding I usually try to find deep water and drive through it to do most of the cleaning for me under the truck lol
It just seems a lot easier than doing it at home with a garden hose /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
