He was leaving the state in a hurry:confused: and I gave him $150 and a good luck handshake. Pretty good deal and it was only 3mnths old.
Anyways, for the last 2yrs ive left it loud as ____ and I want to quiet it down some. Anyone fix there noisy costco coleman generator? What did you do?

Must be a inexpensive way to stbu:D. Any ideas or solutions are appreciated.
Thanks,

The silencer may quiet the exhaust up some but the motor itself is waaaay noisy as well, probably noisier than the exhaust. I've seen people try all kinds of stuff to quiet those obnoxious things up and nothing short of three feet of concrete seems to work.

Build sides for it out of sheet metal and attach automotive insulation / sound deadener to the sides. Honda makes a sound deadened genny. Look at one at your local dealer for ideas to copy.:D

No doubt this Tecumseh engine is WAY LOUD:ears:! I do think a better silencer would help some though.
When I use it for a power outage I keep it in one of those Rubbermaid Deck storage dealies. It helps alot. I just want to quiet it down some for those portable times:D
