So i got 6" lift springs up front and im trying to get more like 8". The best way to get this is probably just get an 8" spring im assuming but could i get 8" if i use an ez inch and longer shackles (like 7.25") or is that considered bad?

I wouldn't recommend the 7.25" shackles. I tried the 7.25" shackles with my 52" front spring swap and the added length thru my caster all out of spec causing death wobble.

Do the EZ Inch but don't get crazy with shackles.

sounds good. think im gonna do the ez inch and just do shorter shackles with my shackle flip in the rear, should even out right around 7" of lift.

I have 8" springs up front and needed more lift, kinda the same situation you have. I used an E-Z inch and used Kurt's 6" shackle to get as close as I could to 10". 6" was pushing it in my case with throwing the caster out of wack, so becareful with the length. I ended up with about 9 5/8" total roughly. Worked out well for me but then again every truck is different! :waytogo:

X2 on not using the 7.25" shackles. If you aren't prepared to put a track bar in, don't use them. I have a 2" drop hanger, 56" springs, and the 7.25" shackles. I had to put a track bar in. Too much play and leverage on the setup. Also remember that your upper shackle mount needs to be upgraded if putting longer shackles on. Mine has a half boxed and welded mount to allow for the larger bolt. ORD has a bolt in unit though.

I put 8" springs in mine and it rode like a dump truck. I pulled the bottom two leaves out of the pack, made the ride 100 times better and only dropped it about an inch. So my perfect recipe for 8" is a pulled apart leaf pack and ez inch. Just my 2 cents, results may vary
