Getting ready for BB

Yeah well.
So I get a late start for BB'10 preparedness. Supposedly, there are 2 new tires waiting for me at 4WP in Mesa...

I should have left the truck in Moab anyways. Would have saved me 1000 miles of driving...

Went wheeling Saturday. Almost nosed over the Jimmy. Way too close. Never felt that off kilter. Had to stand on the throttle to pull the nose out. No pictures, but a lot of holly crap from the watchers. Anyway, now the steering wheel is 45degrees off.

We went out last night, the clouds went ahead and washed the blazer for about 3 hours, but it isn't very clean, lol.

Every time I straighten my wheel it well get out of whack first trip out and not move again until the next time I straighten it. Then the process repeats. I've just gotten used to not having the wheel straight

let me know if you need a hand with anything, I am here (in AZ) already.

Appreciate the offer. Claudia saw it twice in this condition :eek1:, laughed her butt off , started it up, and it ran fine :waytogo:. I'm not aware that I broke/hurt anything on the last Moab outing (including a Golden Spike run...), and I knew about the tire issue. The flat one used to be my spare; I cut a sidewall on the way out from 'Spike. Two MTR Kevlars are (hopefully) waiting for me.

got the RC ready to go today. Gonna re-spool the winch tomorrow and finish loading my spare parts/tools.

trucks still in peices and no trailer yet. due to financial woes fuel injection isnt happening anytime soon as was planned.. is anyone else planning on making the trifecta with a carb??

Yes. Stock Q-Jet on my '85. Last run (#9 or so...) on that trail was end of April.

You'll probably be fine with a decent carb. I think Chris 77383k5 has a carb and leads prichett.

Me, I have to finish bolting down some parts, pack it up and go.

thanks for the reasurance. im runnin a tweaked edlebrock but am considering switching back to a q-jet due to ive seen them run crazy angles and theres one or two in the floor of my shop. well im wrenchin all wekend , does anyone know if 10bolt 3/4 ton spindles are the same as 1/2 ton , i have a toast 1/2 ton and found a 3/4 on cl for $20

That same Q-jet had been on the truck since '77 and never really let me down, people seriously asked me what FI setup I ran all the time.

It runs on propane now though.

What is "fuel injection"? My Holley carburetor injects fuel into the intake manifold, is that what you mean?

:haha:

I run an edlebrock 1406 and not only do most trails but lead them.
It's all in the set up. Automatics & injection are for pussies.
OK, well maybe it won't stand fully vertical but close.
Whoa, Whoa WHoa, I resemble that remark, and you know what they say, you are what you eat... :D
