I must say it has come a long way in a year and a half of laboring....All metal 100% rust free now and done with KBS 1,2,3 Anti-Rust System, frame and undercarriage. 100% rebuilt TH350, Torque Converter and NP203 Transfer Case Assembly, 400 SBC Completely rebuilt short block, heads redone with all new parts, Comp Cams Extreme 4x4 Cam, new rockers, lifters, push rods, Edelbrock Intake and Carb, Accel HEI, MSD Wires, Completely rebuilt DANA 44-8F Front End, all new Drive shafts and seals. Many more new parts to get on it. I am hoping to get it running this weekend for the first time....fingers crossed I have it all installed correctly.....

Lot's of good work there, Can see the time and attention to detail. Since you are going with ram horn exhaust manifolds, the spark plug wires go down behind the head loop up from under to the spark plugs. The driver side front 2 wires go between the exhaust pipe and the block, you'll want to fasten them to block away from the exhaust.

I am not sure 1 electric fan will be enough to cool your SBC 400. 400's need the best cooling system you can manage. Siamese cylinder don't allow the best flow.
Couldn't tell if the flex plate had the balance weight welded on, it is an external balance flex ? I saw the front balancer was correct.

Gonna be a great cruiser for sure. Always nice to the brace brackets installed and the correct th350 housing being used.

You absolutely will need a better cooling setup. Dual fans with a real shroud of some kind. There are several options out there available that will work. A single fan right on the core can’t keep up.

Your cooling fan is grossly inadequate...

GM did a decent job with their large shroud & 8 blade fan .... Still a large or dual pusher fans in front is a nice

Wild card??? Rebuilt Short Block.... Was it Balanced with that new flex plate? That engine is externally balanced.

AC and a 400sb.... Get the biggest 4 core hi performance radiator that will fit in the radiator support.

I have a 77 with a 400 with a very similar engine build. You have a lot of radiator not covered by a fan or a shroud. At the very least I would add a shroud and maybe some pusher fans in front to help with the AC. I have a mechanical fan with shroud a a 4 row aluminum and I added an oil cooler and a remote filter mount to help keep the oil cool. My temps on stock gauge are 3/8 from cold and no more than 190 on my 2nd gauge and sender on the lower radiator hose.

Hey all getting more done...Drove the vehicle up down the dirt road about 5 miles and up and down big hills got her up to temp, I have the Davies Fan Controller System set for fans to come on at 200 and off at 209 (GM Recommended Temp Range 195-210) works great and she is running like a champ https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcw-dc-0444
Do not have the A/C hooked up yet but the relay will turn on the fan when the AC is on and stay on until turned off. The fan is 3,000 RPM 16" and the Radiator is a 3 core and seems cool just fine.

Cruising speed, even up hill, is not where the single fan will hurt you. It will be in heavy slow traffic, stop and go, on hot days with or with out the ac on.
Hoping I am wrong, but you should watch the temps until it proves that fan can keep up.

Thankfully there is not a Stop Light in my entire County. But yes I will definitely be watching the Temperature.

I found hanging out with other car enthusiast on cruises and trying to leave the Pomona Swap meet, gave my cooling systems the biggest tests. Esp the 30 model A, with narrow radiator.
Any extended idle will be the hardest.

Where did the "GM" 195 to 210° spec come from. Ifaik that is late model spec. Would scared s&+- less to run a sbc 400 with simese cylinders at those temps. Hell I have 170° t stat in my sbc 355.

I have a 180 in the Jimmy and it pretty much stays there. Course I tell it once in awhile " Be cool, you, be cool"

95 to 98 windstar. You can buy the fans from Rockauto, the hard part these days will be the wiring harness.
