Anyone every heard of this brand steering brace. Im trying to buy a steering brace for my blazer from this guy and he says that its made by geunuine. But the only steering brace I've seen is from ord.

IIRC there was a company back in the 80's that made the brace before ORD and gave the plans to them or something like that. Maybe this is one of em.

ORD doesn't make their own braces, they buy them from another company, and I can't remember the name of that other company right now..

I know I sure do love my ORD brace... cheap peace of mind..

Genuine makes the weld on patch. I've got two and they're not even close to matching the contour of the frame.

ooo, no wonder he was selling it for 50 bucks. I forgot to mention i need the bolt on steering brace:o. Thanks

Autofab and ORD buy there braces from someguy that doesn't want the hassle of selling them. So ORD and autofab buy and sell them.
The weld in is produced by several companies and it seems as though they all use a very poor stamp to make the shape. Every one of them seems to fit like Doggy Dooooo.
I have heard that the best way to install the weld in is to bolt it to the frame and tighten up the bolts till the plates touch then begin hammering to fit and tacking it in place a bit at a time. once it all fits the way you want it to then weld it up.

That would be the way to install it. Just from my fabbing experience around the shop, it's dang impossible to get something like that to fit every vehicle perfect every time. Bolt, beat, tack.
