GIANT TECH Plasma Cutter

I had to think about it for a long while. Generally I do not go for Chinese tools. The turning point for me was when I ordered a $200 Matco air ratchet..it came in with made in China down the side. I returned it and bought one at Harbor Freight for $20. Two can play those games. I'll buy 10 ratchets from harbor Freight before i give Matco $200 if they want to stick it to me like that.

I'll let you guys know how it works when I get some shop space.

Mine came in one day. I have no where to use it right now but I did have it over at a buddy's place to try it out. We cut some spring perches off an axle, did some body work, did some frame work, cut various pieces of scrap in his shop. I would say max cut is about 3/8" clean steel. They claim 1", it may cut it but it won't be anything near pretty. I'd say 1/4" and the quality of the cut really started going down hill. Other than that it functions really well. If you've never used a nice plasma cutter you probably won't know the difference. Fit and finish...well it looks like anything else made in China, it's not going to look like a Miller so don't expect that. The thing is also very small, but I like that. I had a Linde once that would only cut 1/8" and it weighed like 60lbs and was about the size of an air conditioner. Oh, and much to my surprise the soul of the little kid that built the thing was nowhere to be found in the box. This was much relieving.
