a friend (that cute blond on the pass door of the Vette)
is having some car issues...got any advice?
2000? Mazda 3 I think...

Her description....

"Well I know that my air intake tube or whatever had holes in it to where it was sucking air... So we temporarily fixed it to see if that was the issue but it's still doing the same thing. I'll be driving then I won't be able to accelerate even though my pedal is all the way pressed. Idk, it's weird. When I stop at a light then go to accelerate I can't go over 15mph.... And it happens randomly."

unplug the holes they plugged n figure out what used to be in them :D or what they were for

Damn Zimmer! Check under her hood!!!!! Take pics and report to the pig pen!!!

That's all I got. Sorry.

from the intake there is a vacuum line that is suppose to run to the valve cover, I can only assume that is the hole she is referring to.

Need to pull the codes, sounds like it could be a TPS issue.

Auto or manual?

:rolleyes:Show off:haha:

Depending on the engine/year (mazda started the 3 in o3) mazda was good about sticking the Mas air flow sensor on the air box. If the snorkel is cracked/broken (like they do) it can cause serious drive-ability. if they taped it up its still going to flex, if its still slightly leaking it may be confusing the computer(hi then instant low air flow). Assuming its this setup, if you unplug the mass it should stable out and go int a "limp mode". It wont run perfect but should at least run predictable. Ether way the snorkel needs replacing.

I'm with him.... my friend at work had the same issue, same car, new snorkel and it fixed it. It's sucking way too much air in.

I can only admire her, she's my daughters friend as well....a good kid, trying to save a buck or two.

I'll pass along the advice guys, thanks much!

OK, my guess on the car was a bit off....lets try this:

she says its a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon v6
