So I've ordered the FAST ez-efi kit, expensive solution to my tbi issues...but I will have it to go on the big block when I get to that point so worth it to me. Plus the 350 in the Blazer only has 25k so I might as well get some use out of it now.

My question is should I consider going ahead and swapping heads/cam with the intake...I will have to ditch the headers on it now, but that's no big deal. I don't want to put a ton of money into it, but I would like to get a little more low-mid range tq...I mean why not right? But what would be the best route? I'm not an engine guy and don't claim to be, just know enough to get by so suggestions on possible combos that would work best for me from some of you guys that are more experienced would be great.

Iron vortecs maybe? Then what should I look for in a cam:dunno: Or would there be better options for the money since I won't have the restrictions of the stock tbi setup? When it comes to pairing those two up I haven't educated myself enough yet to have a clue where to start. I am about to get my google on and try to find some good stuff to read on the subject so feel free to throw in links you know of to lern me rite.

i would say if your going to a bbc one day i would spend as little as possible on the small block but i would consider changing the cam while i had the intake off its not that much work but way worth it if your running a factory cam i would look at the comp cams xe252 up to maybe the xe262 just depends on the idle quality you want and the rpm range you want to run it in but don't go too big with fuel injection i am running a crane cam 210 intake 216 exhaust duration @0.050 and you can barely hear the cam at idle and it pulls strong to about 5300 rpms just keep your lsa about 114 to help idle quality and i would stay under 224 degrees duration hope this helps

whatever you do, try to document everything you do with the FAST system for the rest of us. Any kind of how to's, pictures, or opinions would be AWESOME for us. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input. That was another thing I was wondering about, is it worth swapping the factory cam out and leaving the tbi heads? That would save me a good bit, I just don't know if it'd be worth it.

I will definately take as many pics as I can and probably start a build thread when I start the install, I still have to buy some other parts...fuel pump, fuel cell if I don't change my mind, ignition, etc. I've been waiting for cooler weather to do anything to it since it won't fit in my garage and working in the heat with the sun baking tools making them unbearable to pick up is no fun. I should have the rest of the parts gathered up by the time I finally decide on what I'm doing about the heads/cam so probably next month will be when I tear into it. Plus I still have to get the remnants of my 00 s10 out of the garage and try to get the 4.3L and 4L60E sold to clear up some clutter.

i am running stock tbi heads with upgraded springs with the cam i mentioned and i can def. tell a difference and it was well worth it i am running a nv4500 and 35's with 4.10 gears and i can easily scratch 3rd gear

the F.A.S.T. efi sustem is pretty cool and fairly easy to setup. it is nothing like dealing with a factory efi system when it comes to mods like cams heads compression etc. you can dial the fast system in to whatever combo you are running.

holley has a few new systems out too that can even control an electronic trans.

since you intend on going bigblock, id just put the system on and get it running with what you got and save the cash for the bigblock stuff.
