I thought I would just replace the shoes, but ended up stripping down to the backing plate including wheel cylinders.

I need to know the torque specs/sequence, and what to do about loading the bearings with lube. Only a couple of drops of gear lube was lost when removing the axles.

Do I pack these bearings with grease or just use gear oil and coat them pretty good?

do I have to drain and refill the pig?

The existing gear oil looks good, and I'm laying in the snow so, if I don't have to, that would be good.

Thanks for any help on this

Jeremy

the bearings are lubed by gear oil only... so you can clean any build-up off them, recoat and re-install. no grease required.
as far as the drain and refill... im not sure. I wouldnt think its required... you can probably just refill and not worry about it, just change it when it comes due
