Hello, I was wondering if anybody knows of a manual locker for a GM 14 bolt full floater. I know ARB has an air locker, is that better than a manual, in cab type locker? I was given a 14 bolt rear end and am in the process of rebuilding it for an up coming project. Any info will help. Thanks

i cant say that i know but i subscribed because im curious. i know ARB air lockers work really well but i dont know much else about lockers. good luck.

options are
ARB
Detroit
Spool
Minispool
Govlock
open

Listed above in what I think is the best to the worst

for the price, you cant beat a detroit, i know its an auto locker and not a manual, but its really the only reason im running a 14 bolt ff, there cheap to build w/ a detroit. IIRC, arb is the only selectable available for a 14bff.

I thought I'd read that an E-locker was available...but maybe it was for the 14BSF... I don't have 'locked' anything, but the E-locker idea seems best to me, as long as the performance was on-par with other selectables.

The Eaton E-locker isn't available for the FF 14 bolt, its an option for the SF 14 bolt because the H2's use SF 14 bolts and have the e-locker as an option.

The ARB is the best option. If you don't do that, a detroit is the next best for sure (and is less than half the cost of an ARB).

Welded! No way I would pay for any type of spool versus welding for free.

I understand the welded/spool is not for everyone, especially if it's more of a daily driver.

I just broke a detroit locker at bb08 not sure il go back to one as i was told tuff luck when i tried to warranty it

I run a mini spool in my 14ff and for 120 bucks you cant beat it and it very easy to install my has had the crap beat out of it it has held up to a big heavy suburban and 38 inch tire i never had one issue
